Chocolate and sweet potato. The perfect combination.
Okay, let’s not go starting a war about adding sweet potato to brownies. I mean, how bad can it be?
Actually, not bad at all.
They are the most gooey, chocolatey brownies ever! And I love the hint of cloves and cinnamon these bring to the table!
If you’re not so much a fan of SUPER dark chocolate (which these definitely are), feel free to increase the date paste to 3 or 4 tablespoons.
And speaking of date paste, if you’ve never heard of it, here’s a great tutorial for making your own.
Half the people who try these won’t even realize they have sweet potato in them. The other half will probably smell the sweet potato from a mile off, and wrinkle their nose, muttering how they “hate sweet potatoes”.
But there’s hope! Even my youngest sister (who dislikes sweet potato in any form) likes them.
So, go whip yourself up a batch of these dark chocolate brownies!
